Yet Another Change I Need To Make

I realized I have a problem that I should work on fixing. I don't have a problem with saying "I love you" when I'm extremely happy. But when I am not extremely happy than I have a hard time saying it and sounding sincere. It's not that I don't lack the feeling nor is it that I am saying it just because it might be expected, I do mean it sincerely, it's just that I can't say it and sound sincere.

Whelp, I guess I'll just add it to the list of things I need to work on changing.

That Wasn't Supposed to Happen

We went to go buy a 3rd bookshelf because we (mainly I) have too many books. Instead of coming back home with a bookshelf, we came home with more books. Woops.

My Valentines Weekend Included

Criminal Minds
Gran Torino
Grilled Steak and hotdogs
1 hour of church
The Olympics
Valentines (the movie)
Bloody Nose (what better way to wake up on V-day than to a your nose gushing out the color of the day)

Pretty good considering the only thing that was part of any V-day celebration was the flowers. But don't worry too much about me and my love life, we are just delaying our celebration by a few days.

I think I am starting to hate chicken. Maybe I just need some chicken wings, or a chicken sandwich, or some other really delicious food that includes chicken. Because I am seriously not liking chicken that much right now :(

How Are You Suppose To Feel

when you find out that "facts" you learned in history class, are not, after all, proven historical facts? When you realize that history is just as subjective as political science and english lit. is?

What the End of the World is Going to Be Like

Have you ever wondered what the end of the world or the Apocalypse is going to be like? Or maybe you watched I Am Legend and wondered what it would be like to go through that. Well I think Jon and I had that sort of experience last night, minus everyone else being dead.

We went out on the roads last night to go have dinner and watch 24 with Jon's family. The roads were ridiculous though and it was quite the experience getting to our destination. So I told Jon that on the way home we were going grocery shopping because I was not repeating that experience the next day. So first we hit up Giant. We bought some things but just some of the items that they did not have at all were : bananas, peppers, 2% milk, chicken, beef....It was the most incredible thing I had ever seen for a store that was not going out of business. But we thought part of it might be that the closet grocery store to Giant had closed due to the chance of a collapsing roof from the snow so everybody in that area shopped at Giant.

We went to Harris Teeters next thinking that they should have more stuff. Which they did except for there was less options with chicken, no bananas, and no peppers. AHHHH!!!! They looked to be out of lots of other items too. Though they did have lots and lots of apples, and lots of those little items nobody wants on a daily basis like hot peppers.

It was the strangest experience and I am just happy we were able to get milk...but man do I want a banana. If the world might end or everybody might get stuck in their house for weeks and you need food, go as soon as possible and buy all the milk, chicken, and bananas that you can. Then start a black market selling those items at very high prices to people like me that waited to go. Or if the world is ending and everyone is dying but you, take their milk, chicken, and bananas. No harm in stealing food from dead people, right? Or is this to morbid?

But in the end, though I don't have all the items I want and though there is no black market to buy them from, I am happy that we went after 10 at night. I can imagine that during the day it was long lines and panic of all sorts as people tried to get the last of whatever item they needed. I'd much rather not have the item than fight to the death for it.

I Made

two perfect omelets today. For those of you who don't know how hard omelets can be until you have mastered them, it really was a tiny and very yummy miracle. One miracle that hadn't happened for many years.

As evidence of this miracle, let me show you what the last omelets I tried to make looked like:

I wish I had gotten pictures of the omelets today. But really is a picture necessary? It can't be that hard to imagine two perfectly looking omelets stuffed with cheese and vegetables.

I guess when you get stuck in the house all day because of snow, the small joys in life like a good omelet, become even more important to you.

P.S. Did you know omelet has two different spellings? You've gotta love wikipedia.

I Think Im The Only Person

who forgets to wear a bra to an interview. Thankfully the suitcoat I bought the other day covered that up.

I think I am the only person who programs the gps to take her to her interview in a nearby city, gets really really lost for a half hour, and then realizes (after she is not lost and starts to follow the gps) that it is taking her home. Arg. Good think I left a whole hour for a 1/2 hr drive.

I think I am the only person who gets pissed off at 4 pages of paperwork.

I Had

a breakdown last night thanks to google. I googled how to dress for an interview and realized that I have absolutely nothing to wear to one. Sure I have dress pants and nice shirts but nothing decent for a formal interview as I have never really needed such clothing. AND IF I AM GOING TO FAIL AN INTERVIEW IT WILL NOT BE BECAUSE OF WHAT I AM WEARING OR HOW I LOOK. Jon must have felt a tiny bit bad for me because he told me I could go shopping. It didn't help with the breakdown last night as I fully expected not to be able to find anything but it sure prevented one today. Thankfully I got lucky too and found clothes that actually fit. I tried on half of what I bought (I bought lots to take home and try on again to see which outfit was best and what pieces worked with what.) before getting tired of trying things on so at Macys I just grabbed 3 things off the rack fully expecting to have to return it all. BUT NOPE!!! It is those exact 3 articles of clothing that I am keeping. I must have good grab off the rack luck or talent or whatever you want to call it.

Oh and at New York & Company I am a size 0. Blew my mind. I think I am going to have to start shopping in the womens section (vs the juniors section) more often just to make myself feel good.
