Falling in Love

Can I just say that I am sooo excited about fall. You have probably heard a similiar statement from a dozen people already but I can't help repeating it. I had to go out shopping today for presents and all the stores were filled with fall and halloween decor. I was getting so excited until I realized I couldn't buy any of it because we are moving this month and thus it would be foolish to decorate the apartment. So I told the hubby, to ease the depression, we have to do lots of fall related activites. Like caramel apples, corn mazes, Skyline Drive, pumpkin patches, maybe even a halloween party if we get invited. I LOVE FALL! And not just for the food. And, if there is one reason I am excited to have kids, it is so I can celebrate Halloween with them. Epic times are ahead.

Blogging Break

Though my blogging record is not one to be proud of, I don't often take a two week break from it. But Jon and I took a lovely vacation to Europe and trying to find time to blog as well as internet access, was not on my list of priorities. Maybe when more than 3 people read my blog, hunting down the internet will become a priority, but probably not.

I want to write a post about each country we visited, but I will wait a few days before I start. For now I am trying to make it through a major case of jet lag. Traveling for almost 20 hours yesterday did not help. And getting up early to grocery shop just made it worse. I have never felt anything like this before, since this was my first real trip out of the country (not including going across the border to Canada and Mexico for a few hours).

Good news is all my favorite shows came back on while I was gone. I just finished catching up on NCIS, now I need to catch up on Bones and Criminal Minds. I can't wait.

I.Q.

I am probably the only one out there that absolutely loves I.Q. but that is okay with me.  Walter Matthau's character Einstein is what really does it for me. He is just so adorable. And the other 3 old men aren't too bad themselves. Their mischievousness makes me laugh and they play off each other so well. I can only hope I will have that much fun when I am an old and decrepit woman.

By the way, Watler Mattheau is in another classic movie I love -

Tidbits and Beauty Tips

I am having one of those days, or one of those weeks, where no food tastes that good. I just handed my dinner over to Jon to eat and made something else, which wasn't much better. Jon would have gladly devoured all of my food and enjoyed it. At least that pickle I ate was delicious.

Speaking of which I was watching Man vs. Food for about 2 hours today. Does anybody want to go on a Man Vs. Food Minus the Food Challenges road trip with me? Maybe if we ride bikes between each state we might be able to prevent extreme weight gain and clogged arteries.

By the way, here is another tidbit about me you might not know : I LOVE FOOD SHOWS. The hubbies dad certainly figured that one out when I stole his television for hours to watch a cake making show. I think if I had watched one more episode of it, both he and the hubby may have cried.

Anyways...I found this beauty tip pretty interesting. I read this tip in a magazine and googled to see if it was true. I also read that if you are concerned about baking soda stripping the color from your hair, you can use vinegar. Just let it sit in your hair for about 20 mins and then shampoo and condition really well.

10 Things You May Not Know About Me

My dear friend Logan tagged me, and since she is housing me within the next few weeks, I must comply.

So 10 things you may not know about me:

1. I do not think Brad Pitt is the bomb. And it's not hot when a guy thinks Brad Pitt is the bomb.

2. I LOOVEE pickles and onions and jalapenos. I must smell all the time.

3. I don't know the exact birthday of anyone in my immediate family. I got the two sister in laws down though because their birthdays are the same day in different months. Or I hope I have their birthdays right. Everybody has free reign to remind me it's their birthdays...if they want a present.

Update: I was called out on the wording of this sentence. In it I am referring to the 2 sister in laws on my side of the family. I actually have many more lovely sister in laws.

4. I buy lots of snack food that I then never eat. Which might be good for my figure, but bad for my wallet.

5. I have never owned an ipod or anything like it, unless you count my phone.

6. If I say I hate something, don't believe me. I use hate too loosely. I don't actually have a super long hate list. Just a super long dislike list. And I try never to hate people, unless you Al Sharpton.

7. I used to get made fun of because of my teeth. I need to get over it but I haven't yet. Thank goodness for retainers and braces.

8. I am sticking to my guns and refusing to see Twilight as long as I can. I am not sure if it's because I am secretly scared I will like it, or if I am scared that I will have such strong feelings against it that I wont be able to keep my mouth shut and will offend people in my family.

9. I don't find movie quotes trivia very interesting. And I have never been someone to memorize movie quotes (too much work for my sorry excuse of a memory), with the exception of a few movies.

10. I can't brush my teeth without getting toothpaste all over my face. The why mystery has yet to be solved.
