Which Sandwich Are You?

I thought this was rather interesting. My favorite sandwich in the world is the Mediterranean Veggie. I will let you figure out where I get that sandwich. Oh its so delicious. I like steak and cheese sandwiches too but I haven't had a good one in a while. After that no sandwich is my favorite. I either like it or I don't. So I am not sure which one I fit in and can't tell by the descriptions either.

I think I like the Egg Salad Sandwich description the best though. A universal romantic, entertaining, lively. Sounds good with me! But also kind of wish I had a chance of being a Chicken Salad Sandwich! " Easy-going, well-adjusted, empathic, and understanding. They are the perfect spouse or partner."I am only a Chicken Salad Sandwich to an extent. Until I loose my patience at which point I either have to fake it or break it. And thus I don't consider it acceptable to say I am a Chicken Salad Sandwich.

What sandwich are you and do you agree with the description? Which sandwich do you want to be?

RANT ABOUT MY BODY

I am starting BC finally. Can not tell you how unexcited I am for this but hopefully all goes well.

For anyone who doesn't already know I have extremely small hands. With small hands and skinny arms comes very small wrists. Just below 6 inches to be exact. Which means I technically wear a kids size for bracelet. This also means that I can hardly ever find bracelets that fit and this has been a big problem during my wedding. I finally decided on asking someone on ETSY to make me one. They will not be real pearls but they are not those gaudy fake looking ones either. But even with that, I realized that between my dress and my super small wrists, the two bracelets that I love the most will not promise to look good and thus I can't buy them. I might have to compromise and not get exactly what I want from her and just be happy that I found a way that I can get any type of pearl bracelet in my size. Stupid cute wrists. Evidence right there that its not always fun to be thing and petite.

I am making a lot of compromises for this wedding. The good thing is I usually begin to like whatever I choose enough that it stops mattering to me.

Final bad news: Apparently when I bought my wedding band my finger was having a fat day because I noticed when I tried it on later that it was too big. When I went and picked up Jons band I had them size it (something we forgot to do for some dumb reason. Probably b/c it seemed to fit). It was a whole size bigger than it should have been. And its not sizable. Hopefully they can get it in a different size for us so that I can keep this particular ring because I love it and I don't want to ring shop again. Either way I am thankful still that we found it. At least we know there is hope out there for me.

My life summed up : So many decisions. So much time. So little patience.

Things On My Mind

We need to figure out a tux for Jon. I am actually kind of excited about this. Buy it or Rent it is the big decision?? Will have to see what kind of deals we can find.

I decided just a bit ago that I wanted to have an impromptu Bachelorette party in August because its the only time when almost all of my close friends will be in town. I originally planned to have one in October but I wanted a chance to have most of my close close friends there. It will obviously be quickly planned and informal but could end up being way fun. Ill just have to have a huge girls night out or something in October.

We have to to a trial run of the invites, work on the guest book, and pick the engagement picture this weekend. AHHH!!! Busy Saturday but I love getting things done.

I have a feeling I am going to end up buying these shoes for my wedding!!! I need flats because of Jon's height (which I love by the way. just wish I could have heals) and these are the only ones I have found yet that I really like. Plus for the price of almost all other wedding shoes I can buy them in two different colors. :)

I want to make an old school chain to count down tell my wedding. I am so lame and nerdy but I want one.

We picked the cake by the way. Its going to be awesome.

What Would Your Wedding Entrance Be?

I thought it was a pretty entertaining video that's making its way around the internet:

P.S. You know that shirt I ordered. Well I got it and wore it already. LOVE IT!!!

Spend More but Buy Less

Thanks to Princess Lasertron's blog, I found this article. I thought it was rather rather interesting. I often live by that concept with shoes and totally agree with it towards furniture but I never thought about it that way towards food and everything else in life. This rule does not work always. I have really cheap shoes that have lasted for a long time, and more expensive shoes that have not, but id say those are the exceptions. More money often means better quality and comfort. But never forget that you should not live beyond your means.

Crazy Engagement Pictures

There are two important elements of a wedding for me. Food and good photography. We have not chosen our photographer yet but both of our options live out of state. Thus we had to find someone else to do our engagements. I decided that I did not want to spend the money on a professional for our engagements as we could make up for them with the quality of our wedding day pictures. So we tasked my sister with it. She hates photographing people but I knew that making her do some photo shoots with us would help her develop her skills a bit more (even if she doesn't believe it). And I knew that all we really needed was 1 or 2 really good pictures to send out and if we took tons we were destined to get those 1 or 2. The results are as follows:

Because of the following

-the fact that Jon and I tend to close our eyes or make funny faces but never at the same time
-not one of us had a clue of how to pose me and Jon
-the lighting was a bit hard to work with in one of our locations
-I forgot a piece to one of my outfits and thus had to wear the same outfit the whole time
-my sister not having all the professional equipment as its just a hobby for her

we got the following

- 2 to 3 pictures that have engagement potential
- a bunch of pictures of me and Jon just looking strange as always
- a handful of hysterical pictures (make me cry they are so funny pictures)
- some really cute but not engagement pictures
- some awesome facebook profile pictures
- pictures that capture our personality a lot more than some professionally done engagement pictures do

Yes I do love looking at professionally done engagement pictures. Some almost make me drool. But I have learned in this wedding process that some things I need to loosen up on so that I can get exactly what I want in other areas. Will I regret this down the road? Doubt it! I believe that the memories we made, the moments we captured, and the laughter had afterwards as we looked through them will make up for any lack of quality in our engagement pictures. And all I really want and care about is amazing pictures from our wedding festivities.

Well now that I have most of the fun stuff out of the way with wedding planning on to the more grueling stuff....

I Did It

I bought the shirt. I love things about the ocean and I love the meaning of the shirt so I got it.

I want the shirt below but know it wont be as cute once I make it modest so I will not be buying it. But I had to share anyways.

This skirt is also incredibly adorable. I don't have 60$ to spend right now but maybe you do.

And just look at these shoes. Yummy.

Blessings

I had a great weekend but before I give an update on it, I would like to tell a quick story. Me and Jon had been a bit concerned about finding a wedding band to match my engagement ring. He bought a ring that did not have a matching band. When we went back to the store he bought my ring at, they showed us some bands that would match it okay but the price was upwards to two thousand. We did not want to spend that much and decided that before we took that plunge we would look around. We went to the Dulles mall this past weekend because they have a bunch of shops all in one location. The first one we hit up only had two options. One was too thin though so really there was only one option. I knew we should get it if we found nothing else as the price was good and it looked decent enough with my ring, but I can't say I was super thrilled about it. So we went to another store that ended up having absolutely no options. We were looking for an eternity band or something similar to it. We needed a decent amount of the ring to be covered in diamonds in order for it to match my engagement ring as my ring has a pattern all along the side. We were told at every place that most stores do not sell rings that like anymore. We happened to go into one place though and told them all. What we were looking for, what problems we had run into, etc. The sales lady was like "we have an eternity band." She cleaned both and I tried them on and they looked almost perfect together, considering our past options. Apparently someone had special ordered it and then it did not end up working for them which is why it happened to be in the store at the time. And even better was that it was the size I needed. It would not have been a problem to special order it by any means but it was nice that we got a discount for not having to special order it.

I had been stressing about the band. We had allotted a big chunk of time for us to check out bands on Saturday knowing that we might struggle with it. In the end it took us less than an hour, we found the perfect band so I did not have to settle, and for a considerably cheaper price than we could have ended up spending. His band also ended up being a really good price (every place was cheaper then the place before. So weird), though we did end up having to special order his. I am so thankful for these small blessings we have gotten from our Heavenly Father in our wedding planning. I am not an optimistic planner with weddings and always overestimate how much everything could cost and always freak out about having enough money but we have been so blessed in finding ways to save money.

The rest of the weekend was great too. Friday, Jon and I went up to Georgetown for our anniversary. We just walked around window shopped, ate at Clydes, and got cupcakes at Georgetown Cupcakes. I had heard how good their cupcakes were and just had to test them for myself. They for sure lived up to their name. Soo delicious. And I have to give a public thanks to Jon for his gifts to me. I love surprises and they were a great surprise. Thankfully he claims he likes my gift.

Saturday we hit up Bed Bath and Beyond before going to the mall. After we had figured out our wedding bands he decided he was too tired to do any more wedding stuff so we went and chilled before getting dinner at Chipotle (yum) and going to Stake Conference. After that we went to our friends house to see their new apartment and to watch Ghost Town. They have a great apartment and the movie ended up being way funnier than I thought it would be. After that Me and Jon stayed up way too late to watch the season finale of Harpers Island which was soooo great. I will miss that show. Sunday was stake conference, long nap, and good meals with our families. I decided that beyond working on Jons side of the wedding list, we were taking a break from weddings planning and just relaxing for the day.

Enough about my weekend. To close this post I want to chat about one last thing. The Bridal Registry. As I have been working on the registry I decided to take the approach that I would look at each product, check out the quality and the price, and than choose which one I wanted. I did not choose the cheapest items, not the most expensive, but those in the middle. Items of good quality without spending massive amounts of money. Who knows if I will get those items but at least I tried. This doesn't mean I wont be thankful for whatever I get because I will. Heck you could buy me about anything and I would love it. But I decided that at least on my registry I was not going to ask for the cheapest items just because I felt like I needed to. I wanted to ask for items that I knew would last for a decent amount of time so we didn't have to worry about replacing things anytime in the near future. Hopefully nobody looks at it and wonders about me and how much I spend on things though. Ah the worries.

How Did I

manage to get strawberry jelly all over the part of the chair where the cushion meets the armrest, and not notice it until I stuck my hand into it? And how did I manage to get it on all over the chair and not get it on myself? What was I doing with my sandwich?

Anyways Happy 1 Year Anniversary to me and Jon. I love him soo much. I think we are going to celebrate it by going to Georgetown tonight. Did I mention this is my first anniversary celebration ever. And Jon's too I believe.

Wedding wise we have a busy weekend. We have to go ring shopping and go to Bed Bath and Beyond and do a few other things all tomorrow and still fit in Stake Conference and the finale of Harper's Island. I'm kinda excited. Kinda not. At least we have hardly anything to do on Sunday so we can rest. I have started our guest book. I am making a book to be published. Its so fun but so addicting. These small fun projects for the wedding are causing me to lose a lot of sleep at night. Hopefully it will all turn out as planned and be well worth it.

Me and Jon met up with my brother and Sister-in-law to see Transformers last night. My dad was able to get us free tickets to the Imax for the air and space museums celebration. They were celebrating the fact that part of the movie, in fact one of the funniest parts of the movie, was filmed there. They had free food before hand but me and Jon missed it (sad to find out they had free smoothies and gelato there too) but we were given some sweets after the movie ended (no eating in the theater unfortunately).

As for Transformers I was expecting the worse. For me the first transformers movie was an okay one time movie. Not a favorite but did liked Shia LaBeouf's performance enough. Anyways when I did not think the first one was amazing I usually don't care to see a second one. I also did not hear the greatest things about the second one. It ended up being better than I thought minus the following : Plot was too complicated and they spoke way to fast. I missed much of the story line. The ending was a let down. So anti climatic for me though I wont say why because I don't want to spoil the movie. Finally Megan Fox. Dude I get shes hot but this is suppose to be an action movie. Not a movie about how hot Megan Fox is. Were they so scared people wouldn't like their movie that they needed to keep the viewers attention with her body? In a chick flick they do the whole still shot of the guys body just a few times. In transformers they did it with her about a gazillion times. Ridiculous. Oh and lets not forget the crude humor and swearing. Way too much swearing in it. It almost sounds like I hate the movie but I promise you I dont. So have any of you seen it and what did you think?

Happy Late Fourth

I hope you all got Friday off and I also hope you all had an awesome 4th of July!!! It just happens to be one of my favorite holidays. Nothing better than patriotism and fireworks.

My activities for the short holidays included seeing fireworks at Lansdowne resort after the usual Friday night concert, seeing the fireworks in D.C. from the VA side of the river, watching My Girl, hanging with Jon and friends, going on a short hike, early morning church breakfast, and meeting up with a college friend in D.C. Can't get much better then that though next year I wouldn't mind going to see a parade.

On the wedding front, I have the reception place booked, invitations figured out (just gotta do them), and caterer taken care of. I will try and give more indepth details later. As for me and Jon our 1 year anniversary is coming up this Friday. Crazyyyyyy. I have never actually celebrated an anniversary before.

Great Kissing Scenes

I am a sucker for good chick flicks and an even bigger sucker for good kissing scenes. In return for watching Harper's Island, my sister asked me to watch My Girl. My Girl is a Korean Show about a girl who pretends to be this grandfathers long lost granddaughter. It was a bit on the humorous side & Asian humor is not exactly my cup of tea but it still managed to make me laugh enough that I quite enjoyed the experience. The casting was also awesome and it managed to strike the "dreamy I want this to happen to me" nerve, which hasn't happened in a while.

My favorite scene is :

which will mean nothing to you unless you have seen the show. But I promise you, its great. Perhaps my fascination with this scene is that physical contact does not seem to happen much in Asian shows. Not sure why. I also love it because I am the type of person who can watch a whole season of a show just to see the characters hook up.

A few of my all time favorite kissing scenes are in Invincible, What A Girl Wants, Mary Kate and Ashley Winning London (1 of a hundred reasons why I don't make friends easily..."so you remember that scene in Mary Kate and Ashley..."), and a Walk to Remember. Don't ask me why those are my favorite, they just are. My selection totally makes me sound like I am stuck in high school though. Oh well.

One element that often makes or breaks a kissing scene for me is the emotion involved & how long its taken the characters to come together. The longer they chase each other and the more emotional they are, the more I love it.

What are your favorite kissing scenes? What is your favorite part of chick flicks?

I Might Need To Be Put Into A Mental Hospital

I had a bad night of sleep last night, mainly because I kept having very vivid dreams. Most were just annoying but one was particularly bothering to me. All including very random people and very random story lines.

One dream I had, not the most bothering one though, was where my family was on vacation and we go and visit some ward for church there. It was really big and we were trying to find seats and end up sitting behind an old friend of mine, her husband, and her family. All I remember is feeling awkward at first. Then her mom gets up and leaves. And then Josh has this mini remote which he turns the screen on the stage to some random television show which is totally spiritually hampering in church. I got really mad and stormed out of sacrament meeting and was in the hallway. I was having trouble walking because I had just got these new shoes that were too big on me and I couldn't figure out why I had wasted the money on them. And when I looked at the bottom of them they were already really worn out. It annoyed me. Then I went outside and go to put these little pieces of papers with sayings and positive phrases on another friends car. This particular friend is one I have not talked to in forever. All of a sudden her dad is there in a truck and said he would give me a ride but first he saw some random hay or manure or something that still needed to be put in his truck to be taken somewhere (random I know).

I had another random dream about church but all I can remember from it is that a girl from church was suppose to help with something but she comes late. Her excuse was that she had camped outside with some people and meant to wake up to help but accidentally fell back to sleep that morning. Woops. I tend to have lots of dreams about church. I guess its because church is such a huge part of my life. Too bad so many of those dreams are sooo annoying.

The oh so crazy and not good dream I had was where my mom, my sister, and I go to Utah. I don't remember all the particulars but I remember enough of it for you to get the point. Apparently my uncle had called my mom and told her that he was moving to Utah and told her (probably in a joking manor) that she should too. So she quits her job and moves to Utah. At first I just thought we were on vacation until I heard that. Then I got really concerned about this because I did not know if my dad was coming, if he could quite his job, or what was going to happen in that regards. And then I was told she had called my dad and told him it had nothing to do with him, that the marriage had been really good, she just needed to do this. So basically it felt like she had left my dad and taken us kids with her. I got more and more concerned. When I went to bed I started mumbling something over and over and tears started to roll down my eyes. Then Laura comes up and asks to sleep with me so I let her in the bed. We start talking, and I tried to hide the fact that I was crying from her so she wouldn't cry, but then I start bawling. Right at that point I wake up but it felt so real that I had to think for a second and check the bed beside me to see if Laura was there. And my face was wet.

WHY THE CRAP DID I HAVE A DREAM ABOUT MY MOM LEAVING MY DAD????

Ugh what a horrible dream. I would rather be chased by a million gangsters, mafia men, and zombies and be near death in my dreams, than have this dream again.

I really should start a dream journal. It seems I have crazy dreams at least 2-3 times a week. I am not sure why I have so many crazy ones and why they are so vivid. Maybe its because I watch crazy things like Harper's Island (so good) or maybe I just am plain crazy. Who knows....

I'm mentally ill enough to think I don't need therapy
Is this the case?
